I’m a postdoctoral researcher here at WVU, beginning September 2011, who studies the population of radio pulsars in the Galaxy.

I studied for my PhD at the University of Manchester’s Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, under the supervision of Ben Stappers. My two main projects were pulsar surveys (ie. searches of the Galaxy for new sources) which have allowed me to
  • Discover previously unknown neutron stars
  • Study these stars to find out interesting things about their environment
  • Work with some very cool people
  • Sit underneath, and be in total control of, the Parkes radio telescope

I completed my PhD in January 2011, and then for six months or so I worked as a computer programmer in the UK. It was a pretty enlightening experience and hopefully taught me a few things along the way. A copy of my CV (last update Sept 24th 2011) can be obtained here , and a list of publications can be obtained from NASA ADS.
