The WVU Astronomy Club will be having their next meeting on Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30 PM in Room 259 Hodges Hall, before this month’s International Year of Astronomy lecture. Following the meeting and presentation, weather permitting, we will be observing through the 14” reflector telescope on the building’s roof.
The Astronomy Club usually meets every other Wednesday.

In 2009, in collaboration with the Eberly College of Arts and Science, the Physics Department, and the WV NASA Space Grant Coorporation, we will be hosting a series of public lectures to mark the International Year of Astronomy.
Our next lecture will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 7:30 in 259 Hodges Hall. Jason Best, professor of astronomy and astrophysics and director of the Institute for Environmental Studies, Shepherd University, will be discussing the Cosmology of the Renaissance and the Renaissance of Cosmology, a history of various theories of the nature of the Universe created over the past four hundred years.
